Updated: Jun 21, 2023

After-school programs provide an invaluable service to children and parents alike. Brooklyn Lab after-school programs offer a variety of activities that help kids develop important skills while providing them with fun experiences they can enjoy outside the classroom.

These benefits have made Brooklyn Lab's after-school offerings one of the most sought-after in New York City. This article will explore some of the key advantages of enrolling in these programs, from improved academic performance to greater self-confidence.

All You Need To Know About Us

⇒ Established in 2013, Brooklyn LAB strives to eradicate educational inequalities by equipping students with essential academic understanding, technological competencies, and leadership skills needed for success in college and career.

⇒ Brooklyn LAB is committed to supporting students with diverse needs, regardless of their academic performance, English language proficiency, or disabilities.

⇒ The Brooklyn Laboratory Charter School and the Edmund W. Gordon Brooklyn Laboratory Charter School (EWG) charters of Brooklyn LAB have received authorization from the New York State Education Department.

At LAB Middle School, we provide after-school activities via the InnovateEDU After School Program, which is financed by the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development. This program is available at no cost to all participants. Our After School Program is accessible daily to every Brooklyn LAB Middle School student. To join, students must be registered.

In our daily small-group enrichment sessions, students delve into their passions in arts, STEM, literature, and sports. Our students have joined the competitive debate and robotics teams, created original theater and film projects, and taken part in fitness, arts, and STEM-related courses. By providing a platform for middle school students to actively engage in experiential learning and collaborate with professional creators and intellectuals, we are nurturing the growth of young leaders within our community.

Our exclusive afterschool program takes place right after the daily dismissal at Brooklyn LAB School, offering a wide range of activities such as enrichment classes, sports, leisure, study assistance, and monthly excursions. We will promptly inform families of any cancellations or closures concerning the after-school program, ensuring ample notice.

The program operates during the school year, with hours on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 3:45–5:30 p.m., and on Wednesdays from 1:30–3:45 p.m.

Once a month, we organize field trips and special events on Wednesdays, as well as during the mid-winter and spring break recess periods.
